While I’m preparing the trip to Mexico and sorting out the Moscow archives, my Instagram discoveries continue. Today, I gathered some of the most interesting faces I’ve seen there lately.

Long time ago I have learnt that a portrait doesn’t need to show the face of the subject to show their story. Likewise, not all photographs containing faces are portraits – some of the ones gathered below are great street captures or social commentaries. Regardless of the genre, though, human faces remain some of the most entrancing subjects to photograph, and rightly so – doesn’t the empathy conveyed through images develop empathy in us?

Behind the scene in one of the oldest and most well known night clubs in the city. Once two my friends came there. The men had to dance together and to pretend that they are couple to restrain excessive attention of other men. That was an unforgettable show for the friends’ wives who also came there with their husbands. With no that of kind experience and no practice, the men must have looked awkward. In spite of its specific feature, the club is quite friendly and welcomes people of all sexes. Well, of course, women need to pay entrance fee. For men admission is free.

Kham (38), Lao fisherman, watches at night with a large headlamp, on the beach of the Island of Don Tahim, on the Mekong River in Laos, near the border with Cambodia on January 16, 2017. That night Kham was afraid of attack of gunmen from the Cambodian side of the border, as we got warning from the locals, that such an attack may occur. Kham and his colleagues fish sometimes at night at the shores of this island. The number of fish in the Mekong decreases as a result of overfishing and building dams on the river. To feed his family Kham must sometimes go fishing in such dangerous places. #fisherman #night #portrait #fear #instamood #natgeopl #lumixambassador #lumix #lumixg80
